I don’t know how I’ve managed to go so many years without cooked sugar snap peas in my life, but to be honest, I didn’t even think it was a vegetable that you did cook. I’d eaten them so much fresh that I just never let my mind go there. I mean, yes, snow peas get cooked all the time but this classic for a veggie tray or salad never had been in a saute pan until a few years ago.

That all changed and I’ve had no excuse other than laziness as to why I didn’t post this recipe.

How to Cook Snap Peas

Sugar snap peas are a really quick and easy recipe to cook. Just heat a saute pan to medium high heat and add your fat of choice:

  • For Asian Cooking use oil or coconut oil
  • Healthier recipes choose a nonstick spray or olive oil
  • All other recipes use butter or any of the above

Cook on medium high heat, stirring occasionally until they begin to blister and brown. Serve immediately.

How to Prepare Garlic Sugar Snap Peas

Most of the time I don’t prepare the peas at all, but if the little ends are prominent you just snap it off and pull down the pea so the little string peels away.

  • Do you cut the ends off of sugar snap peas? You can but again, it’s totally up to you.

Should Snap Peas be Refrigerated?

Yes, however you bought your produce is exactly how you should store it. Since it was bought in the refrigerated section make sure you store it in there too.
