The Little Things Newsletter #305 – Life, laughter, and lots of great food!

Welcome to the weekend, my friends! It’s a lovely, rainy, maybe even snowy, weekend over here and I’m enjoying it with some visiting friends. We’re going to curl up indoors today, catch up with each other, and enjoy some terrific food.

ON THE BLOG this week: Thrown together on a whim one night a few years ago while we were on the road, this Dill Pickle and Bacon Potato Salad rapidly became our new favorite potato salad. Filled with plenty of eggs, bacon, and pickle flavor, this potato salad was a kid and adult favorite from the first bite.

I can’t believe it took me this long to make Breakfast Enchiladas. Scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, green chile, cheese, and soft tortillas are some of our favorite breakfast foods. It makes perfect sense that when you layer them all together you’d get a delicious one-pan meal.

Chicken tender enough to slice with a fork, salty Black Forest ham, and the mild melting flavors of Havarti or Swiss cheese makes Chicken Cordon Bleu one of our favorite dinners.

Making your own Homemade Italian Seasoning is as easy as combining a few spoonfuls of dried Italian herbs. It takes just a couple of minutes to stir together this seasoning mix!

Filled with creamy oats, sweet bananas, and berries, a hint of brown sugar, and spices, this Slow Cooker Oatmeal is a breakfast that my whole family enjoys. Best of all, this slow cooker oatmeal can be made in just one hour!

What I’m CRAVING: I’ve been wanting to make this BBQ Chicken French Bread Pizza again – ever since we first made it a few weeks ago. If you haven’t already tried French Bread Pizza, it is a pizza lover’s dream come true. It takes just a few moments of effort to make and it really does taste like pizza. We LOVE it.

What I’m READING: Come Rain or Come Shine by Jan Karon. This was such a fun read! This book tells the story of Dooley and Lace’s wedding and it is charming as can be. You’ll smile and sigh and just be so happy with where everyone’s lives are now.

What I’m LISTENING to: Roll the Bones by Shakey Graves. We are huge Shakey fans and have been for a long time – we just bought tickets for the concert here in September and I can hardly wait. Each new album has made it into our playlist.

However, there is likely nothing that will ever compare to the magic of watching and listening to Shakey Graves play Roll the Bones for the first time. We introduced my brother to the music last week while he was visiting and added yet another fan to the list.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 NIV

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!

Mary
