I know we all scream for ice cream, but Ice Cream Nachos scream “Party!” Waffle cone chips topped with ice cream and your favorite sundae toppings are a guaranteed hit.
Ice Cream Nachos
As soon as my brother mentioned his idea for ice cream nachos, I immediately began dreaming about them. I’m here to tell you that ice cream nachos delivered everything that I imagined!
This is a very loose “recipe,” friends. You’ll need the following ingredients and they can all be adjusted to your tastes:
Waffle cones + ice cream + all of your favorite toppings
Dessert Nachos
It’s no secret here that I love ice cream. In fact, I have more than 140+ ice cream recipes here, any of which would be perfect for our nachos.
This is the perfect recipe to tailor to your personal tastes and what you have on hand. I’ve made nachos with all the traditional ice cream flavors for a banana split, but you can go as wild with it as you like.
I’m thinking about doing the next batch of ice cream nachos with peanut butter ice cream, spicy dark chocolate, and caramel ice cream. You could do a chocolate lover’s dream nachos using chocolate waffle cones, chocolate ice cream, hot fudge sauce, and chocolate whipped cream!
I used the following ingredients to make these ice cream nachos:
- waffle cones
- vanilla ice cream
- chocolate ice cream
- black raspberry ice cream
- sprinkles ice cream
- chocolate sauce
- caramel sauce
- whipped cream
- sliced banana
- maraschino cherries
- rainbow sprinkles or jimmies
Ice Cream Nachos Recipe
While you can buy cute little waffle cone chips for your dessert nachos, the price tends to be ridiculous. I find it simpler and far more cost-effective to buy a box of waffle cones and gently break the cones into a handful of pieces. You don’t need or want to crush them, just break them apart.
Place the waffle cones on a 12-inch tray or platter. Break each cone into a few pieces and spread them out over the tray.
Scoop the ice cream over the cone pieces and drizzle the whole tray with chocolate sauce and caramel sauce. Top with whipped cream, banana slices, cherries, and sprinkles. Serve immediately.
With over 100 ice cream recipes here to choose from, there’s sure to be an ice cream for everyone! If you’re new to making ice cream, the best and easiest vanilla ice cream is a great place to start.
These are my favorite inexpensive containers for storing ice cream. They’re perfect for gifting (who doesn’t love homemade ice cream?) storage, re-using, etc. I write the flavors on the lids with a sharpie and it washes off with dish soap.
I have more ice cream scoops than I can keep track of at this point and I definitely play favorites. This ice cream scoop does the best job ever of cutting through firm ice cream and still delivers a pretty scoop. It gets bonus points for being one of the least expensive scoops I own as well.
