Maple Butter

Simple, two-ingredient maple butter is heaven on earth when it is slathered on warm bread or biscuits fresh from the oven. And happily, it’s as easy as falling off of a log to whip together this perfectly balanced, just-sweet-enough whipped butter spread.

Maple Butter

Everyone knows and loves honey butter, but I think maple butter needs more attention. It’s such a simple way to bring maple goodness to the table whether on bread, biscuits, pancakes, waffles, French toast, or more!

The first time I made this, the butter and an entire loaf of bread were gone in just a matter of hours. That was with only 3 adults in the house. If you have more hungry mouths to feed, I’d recommend doubling the recipe.

This recipe also keeps well in the fridge for a week or so, and in the freezer for up to 3 months for best quality.

Want a special treat for your french toast? Freeze maple butter in an ice cube tray. Once frozen, remove and store in a freezer baggie. Soften as many as you need on a plate on the counter before serving, and then add one cube between two piping-hot pieces of French Toast.

Maple Butter Recipe

You’ll need the following ingredients to make this recipe:

  • Butter
  • Maple Syrup

To make a batch of maple butter, you’ll start by combining the maple syrup and some room temperature butter in a mixing bowl.

Beat them with an electric mixer until well combined and fluffy. Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container and store in the fridge.

Allow the butter to come to room temperature again before serving. Depending on the container you use and the temperature of your room, this could take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes.

Flavored Butter Recipes

If you’ve never experimented with flavored and whipped butters before, you’re in for a treat! Not only with this maple recipe, but with many of the other options we have here, too, like Whipped Strawberry Butter, JalapeƱo Honey Butter, and the incredible Cowboy Butter.

Or get back to the basics with our How To Make Whipped Butter post!

And while it isn’t actually made with butter, Crock-Pot Apple Butter definitely needs to be mentioned here. Tangy, sweet, and pure apple goodness, it actually pairs well with any of the whipped butters listed above; especially maple butter!
